Demanding Visibility

Women are so often pushed to the background. When our stories are not seen or heard our needs, safety, priorities, ideas become invisible.

AND when we define and write our stories, and share them we demand to be witnessed and recognized. In the past, throughout history, it has been a point of strength for women to come together, support one another, and to tell their stories.

In partnership with the International Rescue Committee, the following posters are part of a storytelling process that supported Syrian refugee women living in Lebanon. Participants shared their experiences and chose symbols to represent their message.

The posters were erected around the region as a campaign to recognize - Syrian women’s fight, courage, and struggle, their critical leadership, and the impact they have made in their communities.
