World-Building, Futures, and the Art of Belonging

My name is Meredith Hutchison — I’m an Armenian American based in NYC, fierce feminist activist, LGBTQIA+ and racial justice ally, storyteller, time traveler and artist. For over 15 years, I’ve worked across 20 countries leading visual storytelling, social impact design, and creative strategy projects that fuse art with action. My multidisciplinary practice spans illustration, photography, animation, and collage, now expanding into projection mapping, immersive installation, and augmented reality — creating experiences that evoke awe, spark empathy, and remind us of our deep interconnectedness.

The Linocut is my creative home — named after the linocut printmaking process, an art form rooted in resistance. Linocut printing is bold and tactile: carved by hand, pressed by force, and shared widely. It has long been the medium of the people — used by artists and activists to amplify truth, spread revolutionary ideas, and make beauty accessible beyond gallery walls. For me, the linocut method embodies what art should be: imperfect, human, and powerful enough to spark change.

At my core, I’m a facilitator and co-designer — working alongside communities in ways that bring joy, reckon with truth, and build connection. I’m also Co-Founder of Resistance Communications, a creative collective partnering with social movements to build campaigns and visual strategies for justice, and Co-Founder of Vision Not Victim, a global program equipping girls to reimagine their stories and lead systemic change.

I hold a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University and a BA in Comparative Literature from the University of Pittsburgh. Across every project, I’m driven by one belief: that art — when made collaboratively and with intention — can heal, transform, and reimagine what’s possible.
